My Diary: Some Random Thoughts


10th May 2015 is approaching. The day when my 5 years Bond with NUST to serve as a faculty member is finishing; and I am free to move anywhere (legally and morally). I had been waiting for this day during the first few months at NUST so eagerly but now, when it is right there, there is no feeling but of emptiness. It is not that, I am a kind of person who plans for future; I am not a dreamer but with each passing day, when life appears to be very slowly loosing, this feeling of emptiness is emerging. Some Random Thoughts on Spiritualism-1

[Note: I am not presenting my own opinion in this post but I am just commenting upon some beliefs regarding spirituality that I have come across during discussion with other people and the confusions that come in mind about those beliefs]


We, colleagues in university, were having discussion about spirituality. Few of them have had experienced spiritualism by themselves or know the people who have  (or claim to have) performed so. I learnt from them a few beliefs about spirituality I found hard to grasp. I have tried to enlist some of these points which are basically the characteristics that are associated with spiritual people.

  1. People who have mastered the spirituality can not only know their own date of deaths but can tell that for any other person.
  2. All the events in the universe (those which have happened and those which are going to happen) are stored like a book. Spiritual people can look into that book and see and tell the events.
  3. They can talk to people who are dead. They can ask them any question related to their lives that they lived on earth and their life hereafter.
  4. They can visit the skies (heavens). They can even meet the Prophets (A.S) on those skies.

Questions:

  1. If people can tell their own date of deaths and others, then is there any point in admiring the bravery of those who performed Jihad and returned as Ghazi? For example, in battles and ghazvas, the sahabis (ra) who pariticipated in Battle of Badar are admired by Almighty. Is it possible that none of those 313 had practiced spirituality to know their date of deaths? Why didn't they practice it if it is so necessary in religion? and if they did practice it, then how can they be claimed to be heroes when they knew that they were not going to die that day?
  2. If they can see the future events as well, why do they don't use this skill for the betterment of humanity like other people do (for example scientists who have done so much to improve the life). For example, if they can tell the natural calamity is going to happen, then why not they try to save people life? and if they say that they have to keep it secret, why is it so ? Why an ilm (knowledge - a good thing) has to be kept in secret if it is allowed in religion?

Iss daur main may aur hai, jaam aur hai, jum aur
Saaqi ne bina ki rawish-e-lutf-o-sitam aur
Muslim nai bhi ta’ameer kia, apna harum aur
Tahzeeb ke azar ne trishwai sanam aur
In taza khudaon main baRa sab se watan hai
Jo pairhan iss ka hai, woh mazhab ka kafan hai
Yeh but keh tarasheeda-e-tahzeeb-i-navi hai
Gharat gar-e-khashan-e-deen-i-nabawi hai
Baazu tira tawheed ki quwwat se qawi hai
Islam tira dais he, tu Mustafawi hai!
Nazzara-e-deerana zamanay ko dikha dai

Aqwaam-e-jahan main hai raqabat, to issi sai
